Rhiannon Hoyle is a community advocate, entrepreneur, and proud MLA for Edmonton-South who has spent 20 years working to make her community stronger.
Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Rhiannon immigrated to Canada and built a life and career in Edmonton. In 2023, she made history as the first Black woman elected to the Alberta Legislature. Before being elected, she led community league work through the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues, served as a publicly elected University of Alberta Senator, and built her career as a business owner in the oil and gas industry.
As Shadow Minister for Jobs, Economy and Trade, Rhiannon is fighting for a diversified economy that creates good jobs Albertans can count on. She continues championing the skilled trades, pushing for the South Edmonton Hospital, and remains a consistent voice for better schools in one of Edmonton's fastest-growing communities.
Rhiannon Hoyle is ready. Alberta's New Democrats are ready.
